[Venice.

Caméraman : Je me demandais, si tu voulais aller...

[Le sourire d’Adriana s'estompe. Elle l’interrompt.]

Adriana : Tu sais quoi Steve ?

Hetty : (off) Clara.

Kensi : Beurk.

Deeks : Il a demandé.

Sam : Syndrome post-traumatique canin ?

[Monty gémit.]

Deeks : Exactement.

On s'y habitue.

Madison : Je lui ai juste données quelques infos secondaires.

Sam : La vraie identité d'Asad El-Libi ?

T'as déjà vu ça ? Le magazine Bark ? Non ? Non ? Tu ne vas pas marcher ? [Elle fait non.] Monty ? T'as entendu la dame. Tu restes ici. Ne lui fait pas de bisous. Vraiment ? Il aime l'émission "All Things Considered".

Deeks : On va voir Monty hein ?

Réveilles-toi ?

Deeks : "Cowboys from Hell".

Deeks : Mais quelque chose a dû l'effrayer.

Deeks : Le thérapeute me l'a expliqué. Dans le subconscient canin de Monty...

Kensi : Ok, stop.

Kensi : Allons-y

[Ils sortent de leur voiture.]

Deeks : Monty, surveille la voiture. Bon garçon.

[A la porte, Kensi et Deeks frappent. Un vieil homme ouvre.]

Homme : Oui ?

Deeks : Bonjour, on doit parler à Farag Hijazi.

Deeks : Nous l'avons s'arrêter ici. Vous voulez essayer de nouveau ?

Homme : Agents fédéraux ?

Deeks : Oui

On paye nos taxes. On paye vos salaires.

Sam : Bon après-midi.

Kensi : (radio) Vous l'avez eu ?

Sam : Oui, on l'a.

[Callen montre son badge également, souriant.]

[Hangar à bateaux. Salle d’interrogatoires. Sam et Callen sont avec Hijazi.]

Callen ; Asad el-Libi transmettait depuis votre magasin.

Salles d’observation.]

Nell : Pas depuis ici.

Bizarre hein ?

[Éric acquiesce. Un ordinateur bipe.]

Nell : J'ai quelque chose. Assad El-Libi leur propose de se rencontrer. Une sorte de sommet à... Quarat as Sawadiq.

Éric : Petite ville, 50 Km au Sud-Ouest de Mistrata.

Nell: Uh-oh.

A moins...

Maintenant.

[Sam secoue la tête, il est mort.]

[NCIS.

[A côté.]

Deeks : A genoux!

[Dans la maison.]

Callen : RAS!

[NCIS. Salle des opérations. Éric tape sur son clavier.]

Éric : Bien, je me connecte à vous maintenant. Je viens d'entrer dans leur installation.

[Pasadena.

[NCIS. Salle des opérations.]

Éric : Je me mets en ligne pour transmettre. Nell.

Nell : Je transfère son image.

[Pasadena.

[He punches, desperately] (grunting) [He Stops, out of breathes…He remembers…]

[Hetty’s office, end of previous ep.]

CALLEN: What was her name?

HETTY: Clara. Her name was Clara. I first met her in Langley, Virginia, in 1966. Liked her right away. She had been recruited to return to Romania, and I was to be her handler.

CALLEN: My mother worked for the CIA?

HETTY: And her father before her. You see, Mr. Callen, it's in your blood.

[Back at the gym. Callen punches again- with all his anger]

[Hetty’s office, end of previous ep.]

HETTY: Her father--your grandfather--was George Callen. He parachuted into Romania in 1944 to help King Michael overthrow the fascists who had sided with Hitler. After the war, your grandfather hunted down war criminals, including the Comescu family.

CALLEN: That's where this all started?

HETTY: Yes. He met and married a Roma girl in 1947. That was when the Comescus sought their revenge. He was murdered. She fled to America with their child.

CALLEN: My mother.

[In the gym, Callen is punching and punching again]

HETTY: [off] Clara. She went back to Romania as a student. That was her cover. For more than a year, everything was fine. But then something happened.

[Hetty’s office, end of previous ep.]

HETTY: She vanished. Six years later, she reappeared, desperate to get out of Romania with her children. You and your sister. She contacted me through prearranged channels. At the last minute, they ordered me to abort the mission. [Hetty doesn’t look anymore at G and is touched] We'd agreed to meet on the beach.

[Callen “sees” the beach, his mother chuckling – the gunshot and the little boy he was standing up]

HETTY: So now you know why I went back.

[G is shocked. He shakes slightly his head]

CALLEN: All these years.

HETTY: Forgive me.

[The ep begins at the agents desks. Sam is eating and is pissed off…]

SAM: It's not going to happen. Why don't you go find a fire hydrant?

SAM: Chase a cat.

MONTY: (whines)

[Sam turns his chair, the dog is no more in front of him; but Monty moves ahead, round the desk…]

SAM: Deeks!

[Deeks, Callen and Kensi are standing and speaking together a little further]

DEEKS: What's up?

SAM: Why is this mutt here?

DEEKS: Well, I got a houseguest, and she kind of has a problem with him.

SAM: Let me guess. She can't stand his begging, either.

DEEKS: Actually, it's more about the red hives that break out over every inch of her smoking hot body. Kind of puts a damper on the fun times.

[Callen sits down at his desk, amused]

KENSI: Ew.

DEEKS: [loudly] He asked.

CALLEN: Really wouldn't kill you to share a little bit of your breakfast with him, Sam.

SAM: This is my breakfast. I paid for it with money I worked hard for.

KENSI: Come on. Give Monty a break.

CALLEN: You know, I think you're forgetting how Monty came through with some bomb-sniffing action not too long ago.

SAM: Yeah, and after that sniff, what did he do when I put myself in harm's way?

DEEKS: You mean leaving the area? He was just following protocol, Sam.

SAM: He was saving his furry butt--that's what he was doing. That why they retired him?

DEEKS: Actually, the vet that did his psych eval said he had a nervous condition.  It's kind of like a canine PTSD.

SAM: Puppy traumatic stress disorder?

MONTY: (whimpers)

DEEKS: Exactly.

 (High-pitched whistling)

MONTY: (barking) (growling)

[Eric is in the stairs]

ERIC: Cool. Dog whistles really work. Case is up, guys.

[They move- Sam puts his sandwich in his plate]

DEEKS: [To Monty] Stay.

SAM: Sandwich better be here when I get back.

[Monty sits down.] (whimpers)

[OPS center. Adriana’s photo is on the screen]

ERIC: KWLJ3 reporter Adriana Gomez. She'd just wrapped up a puff piece in Venice when she was shot and killed.

NELL: It was a drive-by. Her cameraman, Steve Downey, was still rolling when it happened. There was also a serious side to Ms. Gomez's reporting.

SAM: What kind of serious?

NELL: Enough for her to receive several death threats from Libyan nationalists.

ERIC: She did a series of stories on Asad El-Libi. He was a Libyan expat living here in L.A. When the crisis hit, he moved back and started his own version of "Radio Free Libya" after Gaddafi shut down the Internet.

NELL: The guy is a tech wizard. He set up a Web site that got around the firewalls. It's become a clearing house of intel for the rebels.

ERIC: No one knows who he is or where in Libya he broadcasts from, but he's become this...sort of a folk hero.

DEEKS: Well, looks like somebody wasn't too happy that our local news station was cheering him on.

CALLEN: I'm still not getting why we're involved with this.

NELL: Adriana Gomez had been in contact with a Naval Intelligence officer, Commander Gavin Madison.

ERIC: He is the go-to guy on Libyan affairs. He knows more about Asad El-Libi than anyone. He and Adriana traded phone calls.

NELL: Twice the day she was killed. If this incident compromises our national interests...

CALLEN: Kensi, Deeks...

DEEKS: And Monty. [Sam sighs]

CALLEN: Get a FISA warrant for her files. Head over to the newsroom. Sam and I are going to go talk to Madison.

KENSI: Done.

[KWLJ3 office]

STEVE: Seen it all-- fires, floods. More death than I care to remember. You get used to it. Get the shots, grab the interview, move on to the next story.

KENSI: You work with her much?

STEVE: Every day for the past two years.

KENSI: Partners.

STEVE: You get pretty close to someone when you spend that much time with them.

[He looks at Adriana on the screen, Kensi looks at Deeks, sit in front a computer]

KENSI: Yes, you do.

STEVE: We'd get into it a lot—differences of opinion--but even in the middle of that, there was...

KENSI: Heat?

[He nods]

KENSI: Did she feel it, too?

STEVE: Maybe.

DEEKS: All right, going to need some password help here, Eric.

[OPS center]

ERIC: I'm going to have to teach you guys the basics of encryption bypass one of these days.

[Newsroom]

DEEKS: That's cool. Then I can, uh, read Kensi's diary.

ERIC: [over radio] Oh, I already did.

[OPS center]

ERIC: You do not want to go there.

[Newsroom]

[Deeks looks incredulously at Kensi]

KENSI: Did you know about the death threats?

STEVE: She reported them to the cops. Lot of good it did.

KENSI: Is there anything you can think of? Um, someone Adriana may have been talking to? A source, maybe?

STEVE: Yeah, she had a contact--a Libyan expat. She met him a couple times at some Libyan restaurant.

KENSI: Name?

STEVE: (sighs) Sorry.

KENSI: And the restaurant?

STEVE: I remember she had this Libyan dish--liver and raisins.

KENSI: Mmm.

STEVE: Adriana would do anything for a good story.

ERIC: [over radio] Not much in her files. A few research links, typed interview notes. Looks like her main source was Madison.

DEEKS: We get any notes from her call with him yesterday?

ERIC: Nada.

DEEKS: May not have gotten to it yet. You didn't read Kensi's diary. Did you? Hey. Did you really?

[OPS center]

[Eric doesn’t answer. He turns his earpiece off (beeping)]

DEEKS: Eric? Hello?

[Sam parks his car near a garden. Sal and Callen get out and cross it]

CALLEN: I think you secretly like Monty.

SAM: Not a dog person.

CALLEN: Cats?

SAM: Nope.

CALLEN: What if you want to get a pet?

SAM: Not going to. Fish.

CALLEN: Fish!

SAM: Low maintenance, don't make any noise. They even poop in their own environment.

CALLEN: Yeah, well, you can't pet a fish.

SAM: Exactly. And if things don't work out...

CALLEN & SAM: Sushi.

[They’re in front of the door. (knocking)They pull out their badges. A man opens carefully the door]

SAM: Commander Madison?

MADISON: What do you want?

CALLEN: NCIS. Like to talk to you about Adriana Gomez.

MADISON: Sorry, not a good time.

[He stares at them, his eyes tell them he’s worried. Callen spots people inside the room thanks to a reflect on a frame]

CALLEN: All right. We're just going to have to make a call--get a warrant. I think you know the deal.

[Sam and G “tell” him they’ve got the message]

MADISON: Do that.

[He nods and closes the door. The agents pull out their guns. Sam kicks the door open]

CALLEN: Federal agents!

[But a man shoots at them at once! They avoid the bullets and G hits the shooter. They rush inside: a second man is running out of the house. G chases him outside, while Sam checks the dead man]

SAM: Any more?

MADISON: No.

[G hurries towards the back garden door but a car is already starting] (tires squealing) [He reaches the street: too late, the car is gone…]

----------------------- ZAPPING -----------------------

[Madison’s house]

MADISON: They wanted to know about Asad El-Libi, where he's operating from, how to find him. I got the feeling they knew more than I did.

[He’s sit in an armchair- both agents stand in front of him]

SAM: Seen them before?

MADISON: No.

CALLEN: Adriana Gomez called you twice the day she was killed.

MADISON: Yeah, she left me a voice message. Said it was important.

SAM: What about those stories she did last month?

MADISON: I just gave her some basic background. Nothing classified. Things everyone on Gaddafi's side would know about anyway. But I think she was on to something else.

SAM: Asad El-Libi's real identity?

[Callen staeps towards the body lying on the floor]

MADISON: That or where to find him. And for whatever reason, they didn't want her doing any more stories on him. I guess they suspected I knew what she knew. If you guys hadn't arrived when you did, it'd be my photo you're taking, not his.

[G takes pics of the dead guy’s face]

[OPS center. The same guy is wearing an uniform on the photo on the screen. The whole team is here (but Hetty)]

NELL: Salim Akim. He's been linked to Gaddafi's secret police.

SAM: And his partner is still out there somewhere.

ERIC: Partners. They started out as a quartet.

[He shows 4 photos on the screen]

NELL: Hakim Selani, Navid Mufar and Yuseff Aman.

CALLEN: The last one.

NELL: Yuseff.

CALLEN: That's the one who escaped from Madison's house.

ERIC: All four came through LAX on tourist visas and counterfeit passports. They vanished into the L.A. melting pot before the Feds could track them.

SAM: It's hard to do that without help.

CALLEN: Maybe Yuseff and his team came here to find out where in Libya Asad El-Libi was broadcasting from.

SAM: Adriana found out where. If she goes public with that story, Asad El-Libi relocates and they're back to square one.

KENSI: The agents are probably on their way back home to hunt him down.

DEEKS: We have no way to warn him because we don't know where he is.

SAM: She had a source?

KENSI: Right. The cameraman said he didn't have a name, but he also said that she met him at a Libyan cafe.

SAM: Can't be that many of those in town. Eric?

ERIC: I'm on it. All right, Cafe Tripoli. She had lunch there three times in the past couple months, according to her credit card records.

CALLEN: Kensi, Deeks.

DEEKS: And Monty.

[Sam sighs…]

CALLEN: Bring me back some baklava.

[Kensi’s car is parked in front of the Café Tripoli. Monty is on the back seat]

DEEKS: I mean, look at him--he's perfect for our cover. The young, hip couple wanting a taste of exotic Middle Eastern cuisine and our rescue dog. It's actually a requirement for all young hip couples in Los Angeles to have rescue dogs.

KENSI: There's only one hitch in your little plan there, buddy. Dogs aren't allowed in restaurants.

DEEKS: We've considered that, haven't we, Monty?

KENSI: Have you?

DEEKS: He's also a service animal. They use them for blind people, people with seizures, all sorts of things. There's even a woman in Minnesota with an anxiety monkey.

KENSI: Really?

DEEKS: Yeah, I read about it in Bark magazine. Do you get that? Bark magazine? No? Their motto is "Dog is my Co-Pilot". No? Not gonna fly? {She shakes her head] All right, Monty, you heard the woman. You're staying here.

[The dog Kensi’s face]

DEEKS: Don't give her kisses. Aw, really? You're staying here and I'm going to put the radio on for you. A little NPR, yeah? Loves All Things Considered.

[Kensi rolls her eyes while going out of the car]

RADIO: Finding a donor isn't all that hard. Finding out where to bike to get the best meal is. As NPR's Joe Palca explains, scientists think they--

[Monty looks at them crossing the street]

[Inside the Café Tripoli (distorted male voice speaking Arabic)there’s a vid on the TV screen- a hooded man speaks- behind him, there is the Libyan Resistance flag. Deeks and Kensi enter. Men sit at the table don’t smile nor greet them. A old man smiles and comes close]

MAN: Welcome.

KENSI: That's Asad El-Libi. [She waves at the TV]

MAN: You know of him?

DEEKS: Yeah. Actually, one of our friends is a reporter who did a whole bunch of stories on him.

KENSI: Yeah, she's the one who recommended this place to us. Maybe you know her--Adriana Gomez.

MAN: Oh, yes, yes, from the local station.

KENSI: Yes, exactly. She usually comes in here with a Libyan friend for lunch. My God, sweetie, what's his name?

DEEKS: Oh, what is his name? Libyan guy, comes...

MAN: I cannot recall.

[A man stands up and goes out]

DEEKS: We'll go check on Monty, huh?

KENSI: Sure.

[2 other guys block his way. He shows his LAPD badge]]

DEEKS: Not moving? Really?

[He pushes them aside and leaves the café. But to see the guy driving away…]

DEEKS: No. (Groans) Shoot.

[He grabs his phone]

DEEKS: Eric, I need you run a plate for me. Two, S as in Slayer, M as in Metallica, A as in Anthrax, Five, Six, Four, P as in, uh... Parsnip.

ERIC: Parsnip? Your lettering system is heavy metal bands and you're giving me a root vegetable for "P"?

DEEKS: I don't know, man, I drew a blank.

ERIC: Pantera? Hello?

DEEKS: Oh, Cowboys From Hell. What was I thinking?

ERIC: Car is registered to Farag Hijazi. He's 38, Libyan ex-pat, lives about a half mile away, off Glendon. Owns several small businesses, including a auto glass shop that closed several months ago. Which is why a large power bill last month makes no sense.

DEEKS: Okay. Thanks, man.

[Kensi joins him]

KENSI: They're not talking.

DEEKS: Poison... possessed...pentagram...really, Deeks? Monty!

[Farag’s Auto Glass- out of business…]

CALLEN: Com's up. We're at the auto shop, Eric.

[They’re checking the place carefully]

SAM: Hijazi must've had a lot of late nighters doing his books.

CALLEN: No computer.

SAM: There was. [He lights wire] Ethernet, high-speed, high capacity. Like someone was running an on-line business.

CALLEN: Or something bigger. [He spots something on top of shelves- pulls a rope…and the Lybian  Resistance flag

CALLEN: He never went to Libya. Asad El-Libi's been broadcasting here the whole time.

SAM: The question is, where is he now?

--------------------- ZAPPING --------------------------

[OPS center. Asad El-Libi is speaking on video on the large screen]

ERIC: Asad El-Libi uses a remote access system, so anybody tries to track his IP address will think it's coming from Libya.

SAM: So he's still broadcasting?

DEEKS: But something must have spooked him. He left Hijazi's shop in a hurry.

KENSI: Could this be a re-broadcast?

NELL: Negatory. Asad El-Libi only broadcasts live.

CALLEN: Eric, can you find him?

ERIC: I mean, eventually...if he's still using remote access, but...I'll keep working on it.

CALLEN: Time to find Hijazi.

[Deeks, Kensi and Monty are in the car, waiting…]

RADIO: ...that's when a woman is 35 or older at the time of delivery, and doctors start

mentioning statistics--statistics that show increased risk of miscarriage...

KENSI: Have you ever considered that maybe Monty just likes the sound of voices on the radio, and it doesn't really matter what it is we're listening to?

RADIO:...monitoring and genetic testing...

DEEKS: Wait for it.

(Tuning radio)[A man’s voice speaks on the radio]

MONTY: (whimpering and barking)

DEEKS: Okay, changing it back, buddy. Changing it back.

RADIO: I used to think I was a terrible gambler.

[Monty looks at the radio, pleased and interested]

RADIO: At the slots...

DEEKS: The therapist explained it to me. In Monty's archetypal canine subconscious...

KENSI: Okay, stop.

DEEKS: It's actually Pavlovian...

KENSI: No, you have to stop. This is getting far too weird. No...

DEEKS: Here comes Hijazi.

[He’s driving and stops his car in front of the house behind their car. He gets out and opens the house door]

KENSI: Let's go.

[They go out of the car]

DEEKS: Monty, protect the car. Good boy.

[At the door, Kensi knocks (begins "Shave and Haircut" knock)Deeks knock too (finishes knock). An old man opens]

MAN: Yes?

DEEKS: Hi. We need to speak to Farag Hijazi.

MAN: He's not here. [And he begins to close the door but Kensi block it open and shows her badge]

KENSI: Federal agents. We saw him pull up. Want to try again?

MAN: Federal agents?

DEEKS: Yeah.

MAN: Why don't you spend your time finding terrorists instead of bothering my son. We are good citizens. We pay our taxes. We pay your salaries. We have a right not to be harassed by Federal agents.

[He closes the door]

DEEKS: I guess the lecture's over.

KENSI: [sighs] Yeah.

[At the back of the house, Hijazi gets out in a hurry. He hears someone clearing their  throat. He looks on his right: Sam and Callen are just here. Sam shows his badge]

SAM: Afternoon.

KENZI: [over radio] Did you guys get him?

SAM: Yeah, we got him.

[Callen shows his badge too, smiling]

[Boathouse, interrogation room. Sam and Callen are with Hijazi]

CALLEN: Asad El-Libi was broadcasting from your shop.

SAM: No sign of forced entry. Guess you gave him a key.

[Hijazi doesn’t answer. Sam and Callen share a look]

CALLEN: You were Adriana Gomez's source, weren't you? And now she's dead because of what you told her.

HIJAZI: I did not kill her.

SAM: Maybe the Libyans killed her because they couldn't get to you, Hijazi.

CALLEN: They couldn't get to you yet.

HIJAZI: I told her nothing.

CALLEN: We can protect you. You just tell us what you told her, help us find the guys before they find Asad El-Libi.

SAM: It's your only option. We're trying to help you.

[Next door]

DEEKS: You think he's playing us?

KENSI: If he is, he's a good actor.

CALLEN: [Over the screen] I want you to think about it, Hijazi. Because if you're not telling the truth and we can prove that...

DEEKS: So, uh... who, exactly, do you write about in that diary of yours?

KENSI: I don't have a diary.

[Deeks is hit!]

DEEKS: No.

CALLEN: [over the screen] What do you say, we have a deal?

KENSI: It's a journal.

SAM: [over the screen] I don't think we have a deal, G.

[Deeks nods understandably…]

[Interrogation room]

CALLEN: You were her source. The Libyans killed her. Then they tried to kill the Naval Intelligence commander she was talking to.

SAM: It's only a matter of time before they find you.

CALLEN: All right, look, if you don't want our protection, that's fine. Just tell us where Asad El-Libi is, so we can protect him.

HIJAZI: [Scared but deterI wouldn't betray Asad El-Libi.

SAM: The Libyans are still here looking for him.

HIJAZI: You lie. I want to see Asad El-Libi. You went to my shop; you have him.

SAM: Farag... he wasn't there. Neither was his computer.

CALLEN: We're trying to keep him safe. We're on your side.

HIJAZI: My side? First you accuse me, then you want my help? I want a lawyer.

[OPS center]

ERIC: I think we found the car the Libyan agents used in Adriana's drive-by.

[In the observation room Callen, Sam, Kensi and Deeks looks at him on the screen. Nell joins him]

NELL: [over video] Now, Steve Downey's footage didn't get enough of the car for us to I.D. anything specific. Just that it was a brown Impala.

ERIC:[over video] So checking traffic cams in the area around the time of the shooting, we found one with two guys who matched up to our LAX photos of the Libyan agents.

CALLEN: Who's it registered to?

ERIC:[over video] It's a rental.

SAM: And the address they gave for the rental doesn't check out.

NELL: Not unless they're renting rooms at the Chuck E. Cheese on Jefferson.

CALLEN: All right, well, get us whatever you can.

ERIC: [over video] Uh, I got a parking ticket.

CALLEN: I'll take it.

ERIC: [over video] Issued this morning, 2:00 a.m., for parking on a residential street without a permit after 6:00.

SAM: There's no way they'd be that careless.

[Sam and G go out]

♪ ♪

[Sam stops his car behind the rented car. It is locked. Callen nods to Sam who crashes the driver window with his elbow. They search the car, it’s empty]

CALLEN: Pop the trunk.

[They open it…]

[The photo of a dead man’s face is put in Hijazi’s hands- Interrogation room]

HIJAZI: (crying quietly) It's him. My Asad El-Libi.

---------------- ZAPPING ---------------------

HIJAZI: His name was Tarek Al-Kousa. We met a few years ago when he came to my shop. We both loved our country, but what could we do?It's why we were both here.

CALLEN: And then the Arab Spring began.

[Hijazi nods]

HIJAZI: Tarek was an I.T. tech and a programmer. When Gaddafi shut down the Internet, he saw a way to help the rebels.

[Callen sits down opposite]

SAM: Why not do it from Libya?

HIJAZI: Tarek felt he could be more effective from here. It was easier to hack through the Libyan firewalls. Less chance of him being discovered.

CALLEN: But he made it seem like he was in Libya, for morale.

HIJAZI: He knew the people had to feel he was with them for them to have faith in what he was doing. He needed a safe place. My shop was closed. Tarek insisted I stay away, for my own protection and his. If anyone saw me visiting my closed shop...Gaddafi has many resources. The broadcasts continued. I assumed he was still there.

[Callen puts 4 photos on the table – The 4 Libyan Militaries]

CALLEN: You ever seen these men before?

HIJAZI: No, I don't know these men.

CALLEN: They never tried to call, they never sent you any messages?

HIJAZI: It was too risky. You have to understand, back in Libya, the government monitored everything.

[Observation room]

DEEKS: I'm sorry, just to clarify, what is the difference between a journal and a diary?

KENSI: Diaries are for seven-year-old girls.

DEEKS: So, um, you would say that a journal, then, has more adult content? [They share a look] Good to know. Good-to-know.

[Interrogation room]

HIJAZI:...knew it was possible. Gaddafi had sent people here. Maybe he had already sent them. Maybe if I had gone to check on him...

CALLEN: Farag, this is not your fault. We know who did this. There's a chance we can catch them. Now, are you sure you're the only one that knew what he was doing?

HIJAZI: He has a sister Shari. But he would never have told her he was still here. He wouldn't put her in such danger. She was his only family.

[OPS center. Libyans faces are running through the recognisation]

NELL: Any luck with the facial recs?

ERIC: I'm into traffic, ATM, security cams, anything my system can access or hack into. Three guys in a city of ten million.

[Nell comes closer to a computer screen]

NELL: Asad El-Libi is on-line again.

ERIC: What? How can that be?

[On screen:  (distorted voice speaking Arabic)]

NELL: It's live. And he's clearly referencing events that happened after we found his body.

[Boatshed. Observation room. Eric’s face appears on screen in front of Deeks, Kensi, Callen and Sam]

ERIC: Hey, guys, Asad El-Libi is broadcasting again.

SAM: Either someone has taken Asad El-Libi's place or Farag is lying to us.

CALLEN: Maybe her brother told her more than Farag thinks. Kensi, Deeks.

DEEKS: And...Monty, come on!

[Monty is sleeping on the couch - he gets up]

DEEKS: Come on! Yeah, you want to drive? Probably better than Kensi.

[Deeks, Kensi and Monty are gone. Callen and Sam stare at Asad El-Libi footage](distorted voice speaking Arabic)

CALLEN: It's not the man, it's what he stands for.

SAM: Which means they'll come after this guy, as well. Whoever he is.

[Asad El-Libi footage: (distorted voice speaking Arabic)]

[Deeks and Kensi are in the house of Tarek Al-Kousa’s sister. She’s crying]

SHARI: I'm so proud of him, what he did. I just...I wish I had known that he was still here this whole time. The thought of him being so close, and now he's gone. (Sniffles)

KENSI: You know, your brother knew what he was doing was dangerous. And he wanted to protect you.

SHARI: Yeah. (Sniffles) [She smiles]

DEEKS: Shari, someone has taken over your brother's broadcasts. Can you think of anyone that would do that?

SHARI: The only one he would trust to do something like this is Farag Hajazi.

[Deeks and Kensi share a look]

KENSI: Did you notice anything out of the ordinary in the past few days? Strangers, cars, anything you can think of?

SHARI: A few days ago, I thought I was being followed.

KENSI: Did you see who it was?

SHARI: It was a red van. And I...I kept seeing it in the streets, in the parking lots where I went shopping.

DEEKS: When was the last time you saw it?

SHARI: This morning.

[Deeks nods- Kensi gets the message]

KENSI: We need to go now. Please.

[Shari sighs and gets up]

[OPS center. Both Geeks are typing]

ERIC: Whoever this new Asad El-Libi is, he's good. At least I've got a bead on the fake IP in Libya.

NELL: Yeah. He's sending out encrypted messages. Looks like they're going out to several of the rebel leaders.

ERIC: Can we read them?

NELL: Not from his end.

ERIC: Okay, why don't you try

BOTH: ...accessing the message through the recipient's IP.

[Eric smiles]

ERIC: If you start appearing in my dreams, I'm going to be really freaked out.

NELL: Well, you've already appeared in mine.

ERIC: Really?

[They stare towards themselves]

NELL: Only you were old. And really fat. And wearing my dress. Weird, huh?

ERIC: Yeah.

(Computer beeps)

NELL: Oh, got one. Uh, Asad El-Libi is telling them to meet. Some kind of a summit in...Quarat as Sawadiq.

ERIC: Mm, small town, 50 clicks southwest of Misrata.

NELL: Uh-oh.

ERIC: What oh?

NELL: Uh, something I saw earlier on the Naval Intelligence updates. Gaddafi pulled a large part of his artillery and troops away from Misrata.

ERIC: Which wouldn't make sense, considering the battle for control over that city is pivotal in the war. Unless...

NELL: He knows about the rebel summit.

 (computer beeping) [Eric types]

ERIC: This just gets worse. I'm seeing more encrypted messages from our new Asad El-Libi. Only, these aren't going to the rebels. They've been sent to Gaddafi's military command.

NELL: Eric, Asad El-Libi is setting up the rebels.

ERIC: How much time do we have?

NELL: Uh... The summit's scheduled for 2:00 a.m. Misrata time. We have less than two hours to stop a massacre that could change the course of the war…

------------------ ZAPPING ------------------

[OPS center. Nell is briefing Callen, Deeks, Sam and Kensi]

NELL: Hetty has been in contact with the CIA, who are in turn trying to tell the rebels.

CALLEN: Not a lot of love lost between those two.

NELL: In addition to no coherent command structure, the rebels are now being forced to make a choice between the word of the CIA and a man they believe is the voice of the revolution.

DEEKS: Any way to jam the broadcast, send out a warning?

ERIC: The signal's being bounced through a dozen different countries. The only way to do it would be from Asad El-Libi's actual computer.

KENSI: Eric, check traffic cams around Hijazi's restaurant in the last couple days.

ERIC: - What are we looking for?

KENSI: Red van.

DEEKS: Shari Al-Kousa said she'd been followed.

[Eric types and put footage on screen]

ERIC: Red vehicles, red vehicles. Red van.

SAM: There's writing on the side. Arabic.

[He comes closer to the screen]

SAM: Grocery store. Could be a Halal market.

DEEKS: Yeah, there's lots of markets.

NELL: There are...but this one's real close to where you found Asad El-Libi's body.

 (Computer beeping)

[Sam looks at Callen…and the agents go out]

CALLEN: Looks like you're going shopping, Sam.

[Deeks and Kensi are in their car.♫ Sam is walking in the streets,♫ a taqiyah on his head ♫ Callen is watching the back from his car ♫ Sam enters the market]

♫ (Middle Eastern music playing over speakers) ♫ [A butcher is working]

SAM: Salaam Alaykum.

MAN: Alaykum As-salaam. How can I help?

SAM: I have family coming in from Sudan-- my father's birthday.

MAN: Oh, a feast.

SAM: Yes.

MAN: How many?

SAM: 25 to 30. I need lamb.

MAN: Whole or butchered?

SAM: Whole. [He spots the backyard] You mind if I select it myself?

MAN: Everything we carry is slaughtered and prepared by strict Sharia standards.

SAM: I mean no disrespect. It's a family tradition. Superstition.

[A man-Navid Mufar, one of the Libyan policemen is in the backyard]

SAM: Get the feeling not everything back there is Halal.

[Deeks and Kensi speed out of the car – as G does – and Sam jumps over the butchery stand]

MAN: Sir, sir, sir, where you going? Sir...

[Sam punches him, he groans and falls down. Callen pulls out his weapon and runs- Deeks and Kensi are entering the front]

SAM: Federal agent!

[He aims at the man- who turns over but G is already on his way. He raises his hands up, but starts running-But Deeks blocks him]

DEEKS: Stop!

[Mufar grabs a knife from a table]

CALLEN: Put down the knife.

[Sam raises a hand and puts his gun back in his back]

SAM: [Speaking Arabic] Don’t do this. Don’t do this. Don’t do this.

[Callen is ready to shoot. The knife is ready to strike too. Sam has both hands opened. Mufar raises the knife and starts running at Sam]

MUFAR: Allahu Akbar!

SAM: [Speaking Arabic]!

[Callen shoots]

MUFAR: (groans) [He falls down on his back]

♫ [Sam is pissed off: he checked the body] ♫

CALLEN: Eric, we need an ambulance. Now.

♫ [Sam shakes his head: the guy is dead…] ♫

[OPS center]

ERIC: Dead guy is Navid Mufar. Going over the calls from his cell phone now.

[Market backyard. Callen is on his cell phone]

CALLEN: Running out of time here, guys.

[OPS center]

NELL: This is strange. Mufar got a ten-minute call from Hijazi's home at 3:00 p.m.

[Market backyard]

CALLEN: We've had Hijazi at the boat shed since 2:00.

[OPS center]

NELL: Exactly.

ERIC: So who was at Hijazi's house calling Mufar?

[Market backyard: Callen has the answer…]

[Hijazi’s house. The old man opens the door…Deeks and Kensi face him]

KENSI: We need to speak with your son.

[Dad nods and let them get into the house]

DEEKS: Thought you'd like to know we've had a breakthrough. Within the hour, we're gonna know the address of where the men that killed Tarek are staying.

HIJAZI: Thank you. His death will be avenged.

[Dad steps behind them. (Door opens, closes)…Hijazi looks astonished. Dad dials a number outside. (Line ringing)]

[OPS center. Sam and Callen look over Nell and Eric’s shoulders…]

ERIC: He's making a call.

NELL: Come on, let it be close.

ERIC: Pasadena!

NELL: 432 North Woodway.

[Sam and G rush out]

[Hijazi’s house- outside]

DAD: There is a problem.

(man speaking Arabic over phone)

[Pasadena]

(man speaking Arabic)[The 2 last Libyans are packing. Sam knocks at the door. Both men run to the back, but Kensi and Deeks are waiting for them]

KENSI: Stop! Federal agents!

[One guy raises his hands and stops- the other turns over]

KENSI: Got one coming back your way!

[Sam and G crash the door open – the man shoots but G is faster- The Libyan falls down]

[Other door]

DEEKS: On your knees!

[In the house]

CALLEN: Clear!

[The agents meet in the room with the Libyan Rebels flag]

CALLEN: Eric, we're good to go.

[Deeks and Kensi go away with the prisoner. Sam grabs a keffieh]

ERIC: [over radio] Okay, guys, but we're gonna have to move. This summit is about to start.

[OPS center. Eric types]

ERIC: All right, connecting to you now. I just got to get into their setup.

[Pasadena. Callen presses a key (Computer beeping)]

CALLEN: You good?

[Sam, whose face is hidden behind the keffieh, nods]

[OPS center]

ERIC: Getting on-line to transmit. Nell?

NELL: (typing) Putting up his image.

[Pasadena. Callen turns the camera on]

ERIC: [over radio] we are a go from Ops.

[Callen waves at Sam]

SAM: Speaking in Arabic] this is an urgent message. Our summit has been compromised.

[from OPS, the voice is distorted]

SAM: It’s a trap. Leave the area immediately.

[NCIS office. Callen, Sam, Deeks, Kensi and Monty are at the agents desks]

HETTY: According to our Agency friends, most of the rebels heard the message and were able to avoid the trap. Thanks to a special friend who has taken up the torch, Asad El-Libi lives on. And in special recognition of your past contributions, Monty, you are now an official honorary member of our team.

[She puts a NCIS badge over his neck…Monty licks her- she taps gently his head]

HETTY: Good boy.

SAM: I don't believe this.

HETTY: Problem, Mr. Hanna?

SAM: Nothing.

HETTY: Has Homeland picked up Mr. Hijazi's father?

SAM: Taken into custody a couple hours ago.

[Asad El-Libi center…]

HETTY: [Off] Unfortunately, too many members of his generation bought the lies of tyrants. The new Asad El-Libi, hopefully, will help

remedy that situation.

[Hijazi looks at a photo: he’s with his father…He sighs- hides his face, and sit in front the camera, he turns it on. (Camera beeps)]

HIJAZI:  (speaking Arabic)

[NCIS office. Sam is eating. Monty stares at him…]

SAM: You want some?

[Monty wags his tail]

SAM: What? Do you want some of this?

[Sam throws him a bit of his meal…From above, Deeks and Kensi smile before stepping away…Sam shakes his head, Monty lays down near him]

[Hetty’s office. She grabs a file…]

CALLEN: Hetty. I have a question. How did we get from Romania to America?

HETTY: No one knows. It was two years before I found out you were here. Too late again to save your sister. But not you.

CALLEN: You got me out of the orphanage?

HETTY: And into every foster home. I was determined to find you a family. You were a challenging child, Mr. Callen. I asked the Agency to trawl the archives. It's an old friend paying back an old favor. [He grabs the file]

HETTY: I wish there was more.

CALLEN: What about my father?

HETTY: We never found out.

♫ [He leaves her. She sighs heavily…] ♫
